It began in 2005 when two turntables, a mixer and a musical upbringing were brought together to make what DJ C-Bu is today. Almost instantly earning himself weekly residencies at some of Sydney’s most popular events, he quickly established himself as one of Australia’s most in demand and recognised R&B and Hip Hop DJs.
C-Bu has always believed in staying on top of his game, from his track selection to making the next big move, he is always looking at staying one step ahead of the rest. He was one of the first few urban DJs in Sydney to start playing the hip hop and electro mash up style before it popularised the club scene. His eclectic taste in music is still seen today as he now spins electro, Baltimore, moombahton, dubstep and more, looking to become a more open-format DJ. In a move to find a new direction, C-Bu became one of the pioneers of the VJ scene in Sydney and even received recognition from a network in the Netherlands to produce exclusive video mixes. All of his accomplishments were topped off when he was offered the opportunity of being the official DJ for urban superstar ISRAEL CRUZ, a role he has held since early 2007.
His talent has not only been recognised by those in Sydney, as he has travelled all over Australia and delivered party rocking sets and earning regular guest spots in Melbourne and Brisbane. Language isn’t an obstacle in seeing his talent, as C-Bu has earned international status, DJing at nightclubs and festivals through Singapore, Bali, Jakarta, Manila and Kuala Lumpur, with his eyes set on one day breaking the market in the United States.
His talent is seen as limitless, and his determination is endless. If you haven’t heard of C-Bu yet, you will very, very soon.
